Three of My Favorite Things


Today I am going to share with you 3  of my favorite things.  One thing that is so awesome about My Journey is,  I am continually discovering new things so my favorites list changes from week to week.  Hey it’s my Journey I can change if I want to 🙂

1.  Lemon Squeezer:  This is a must have it makes squeezing lemon for my morning water so much easier.  I alternate between cold lemon cayenne pepper water and warm water with just lemon.  This is a must have.  Check out this article for the benefits of lemon water

2.  Coconut Oil:  I started adding coconut oil to my diet 3 weeks ago and  I seem to have more energy and my appetite is coconut_oilsomewhat suppressed.  The thing that I notice the most is I get full faster!    Another thing that I have noticed is my stomach, which is my biggest problem area seems to be shrinking a bit.   Again, I do not make any diagnosis or personal treatment. 3.  Quinoa:   Love it!  So versatile and delicious.  I tried it for the first time a few weeks ago and cannot get enough of this edible seed.  Check out the benefits of Quinoa here.  My favorite Recipe to date is Cheesy Quinoa you can get the recipe here on the Spoon Fork Bacon Blog.

4.  I know the title says 3 but I thought I would add a 4th as a bonus for those living in the Cleveland area. The bonus is not a thing but a place Edgewater Park.  If you have not been there recently you really should check it out.  Cuyahoga County Metro Parks have taken over the park and I am telling you they are really taking care of it.  The landscaping has improved 100%.  The picnic tables have all been repaired.  The bathrooms are well maintained and there is always an event going on.   If you go on a Saturday morning head on up the hill to the upper level and check out the Move With Mack Kettlebell Class. This is the last month for the class at the park. Class starts at 10:30 am and Mack supplies the Kettelbells.  You can burn up to 20 calories a minute in this class.

  1. I had been spending about $9.00 a few times a week on my favorite salad. It was a Poppyseed with strawberries, pineapple, walnuts and blueberries. I finally just went out and bought my own ingredients and made it myself. It was gooood!

  3. Good Stuff! I have 2 of the 3 on your list, the quinoa and the coconut oil. I sauteed plantains in coconut oil the other day and GIRRRL it was the business.

      I have never cooked plantains before I have eaten them but never prepared them, I’m going to have to try it that sounds good…so tropical.

  4. I have been thinking of adding coconut oil to my diet. I am using coconut milk now and I love it.

  5. The quinoa I knew about, but the other two I hadn’t thought of in the context of healthier eating. I didn’t know there were any considerations around coconut oil, I’ll have to try it out for myself. Thanks for the tips.
